In 2006, leaders of the various ministry teams were discussing challenges they were having in ministry caused by limitations in our physical facilities. Out of these discussions came a resolution, passed by Church Council, to establish a Facility Study and Vision Team. The Team was charged with seeking God’s will and discerning the structural needs for the ministry of our church in the years to come so that we may improve our physical facility to house our ministry in the most effective way.
In 2008, we are celebrating our 50th year in our current location. What do we need to do to prepare for the next 50 years? That is the question we asked our ministry teams, Sunday School classes, small groups and congregation. The first phase of our study was to solicit input from the members and stakeholders in our congregation, and listen to their thoughts, ideas and concerns. The steps we took included the following:
Out of this we developed a Facility Master Plan document that outlines our history, current situation, ministry goals, challenges, suggested solutions, and our recommendations. Some suggested ideas were small enough that, with the help of the Trustees and the Pairs and Spares Sunday School class, they have already been accomplished. Some of the ideas are very long-range and will need more discussion. But our focus right now is on a mid-term remodeling project that can meet many of our facility needs as we try to minister to our congregation and community in the most effective way.
At a Church Conference on July 29, 2008, the church voted to proceed with design work on the concepts recommended by the Team. We will continue to solicit input from church members as we go through the design/decision making process. When we have a design we are comfortable with, we will call another Church Conference to vote on construction and a financing plan. Please feel free to contact any member of the Team for more information.

Our next steps will include:
Visit other churches that have recently been built or remodeled
Consult with a church architect / planner
Present our findings to Church Council with options for further action
